File - Inventory - Desired Markup

Micronet maintains two separate markup types:

• actual markups - the current result of the selling price versus the cost or buy price used as a reference. These vary as you edit selling prices or your buy reference prices change when new shipments of products are received at prices higher or lower than the previous cost/buy pricing.
• desired markups - these remain fixed. If you were going to use markups to calculate new selling prices on invoicing or as receipts are completed, then it is the desired markups that are used. Desired markups can also be used when doing global price updates.

To setup desired markups for wholesale (Price Group 1) and retail (Price Group 2) customers:

1. Add a new item or open an existing one.

Refer to "Adding a New Item" or "Updating an Item".

2. Select the DesiredMarkup tab.

Micronet displays the Item Update screen - Desired Markup tab.

3. Enter the desired markup for each price break for wholesale (Price Group 1) and retail (Price Group 2) customers.

Micronet calculates and displays new sell prices, GP% and GP$ based on desired markups. If the desired markup is zero, it is skipped and is not recalculated.

Technical Tip To change the way in which Micronet applies markups when buy prices change, refer to "Edit - Program - Markups". You can also choose to have all prices recalculated as a batch (refer to "Inventory - Adjustments - Price Update".

4. Select FILE | SAVE.
